how do I do online courses?
GET STARTED EASILY
Find courses you want by looking at what's offered in each of the content areas. Enroll by clicking on the Add to Cart button at the end of a course description.
When you enroll, you'll be immediately presented with the link to the course. You'll be able to click on that link and begin the course right away, or wait and go to the course when you have time. You have as much time as you need to complete your course.
At the end of each course, you'll be directed to email us a reflection or specified assignments. We want to know what you learned, of course! It's just that easy and that convenient. Finally, you can take top-quality courses on your own schedule!
HOW DO I MAKE THE VIDEOS WORK?
If you can click on a link to watch an Internet video, you'll find participating in these courses just as easy. You may watch these videos on your computer, phone, tablet, or any other Internet-connected device. Send your required reflection to us using ordinary email. That's really all there is to it. You can start by taking one of our free courses if you're not sure you can do this.
But we're easily available by email to help you out if you can't get a link to work or have questions or problems. We want you to be happy and successful.
CAN I GET CREDIT?
Yes! Each online course earns professional development clock hours or CEUs that you can apply to your CDA renewal, or annual professional development requirement, as determined by your registry. Illinois Gateways hours are preapproved and will be recorded automatically for you.
None of these courses earns college credit, though they do earn CEUs or clock hours, which you may be able to apply to your degree program. Check with your university advisor.
WHERE ARE THESE COURSES HELD?
You're already in the right spot. For this event, there's no need to dress up, take time off from work, arrange for someone else to take your place, or anything else. Instead, you just click on links to the online videos you choose, using your computer, tablet, or other Internet-connected device. Then sit back and enjoy, from wherever you are and at whatever time is convenient for you.
Do the video links ever expire?
No, the links never expire. You may take as long as you like to complete your courses and you may watch them as many times as you like. If you lose track of a link you purchased, just let us know and we'll resend it at no charge.
